Benefits
Role Overview – This remote sales position focuses on driving revenue for a pharmaceutical and healthcare distributor by connecting with pharmacies, institutions, and other trade buyers over the phone. Day to day, you will be building a target list of prospects, making outbound calls to introduce the company’s product portfolio, uncovering buying needs, and converting qualified interest into confirmed orders. Your performance directly shapes the commercial team’s monthly results and supports the company’s position in a crowded healthcare supply market.
Role Overview
This is an inside sales role centered on generating and converting revenue from pharmaceutical and healthcare accounts through outbound telephone engagement. You will spend your time researching potential buyers, making structured sales calls, presenting product benefits, and handling follow-up conversations that turn inquiries into firm orders. Because the company relies on a strong pipeline of remote client relationships, your ability to consistently identify, nurture, and close leads is essential to the commercial team meeting its monthly and quarterly goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research potential clients from company-provided databases, industry lists, referrals, and other approved sources to create a reliable sales pipeline.
- Make high-volume outbound calls to pharmacies, clinics, hospitals, wholesalers, and institutional buyers, introducing the pharmaceutical and healthcare product range in a compelling way.
- Ask probing questions to understand each prospect’s current purchasing habits, typical volumes, decision-making process, and product preferences, then match them with suitable solutions.
- Present product value, highlight key benefits, respond to objections, and guide prospects through the buying steps needed to place an order over the phone.
- Own the follow-up process for every quotation, sample request, or outstanding question, maintaining regular contact and moving each deal toward closure.
- Keep accurate records of calls, negotiations, and client interactions in the sales tracking system or CRM to ensure updates and order details are always current.
- Compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports on call activity, conversion rates, revenue generated, and performance against assigned sales KPIs for the Commercial team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Diploma or Certificate in Pharmaceutical Technology, Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, Communication, or a related discipline.
- At least two years of hands-on experience in telesales, inside sales, customer service, or a comparable client-facing phone role, ideally within pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or FMCG.
- Demonstrated command of telephone sales fundamentals, including sourcing leads, converting conversations into orders, and handling rejection or difficult objections professionally.
- Clear, confident, and persuasive verbal communication, with the ability to quickly build trust and credibility at a distance.
- Working knowledge of CRM systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook), and common sales tracking or customer management tools.
- Strong target orientation, excellent time management, and the resilience to maintain pace across many calls and repeated follow-ups.
- Professional fluency in English and Kiswahili; additional regional languages are an advantage for reaching a wider client base.
