Team Leader Business Systems

Job Purpose

To ensure minimal interruption of services by maintaining the stability, reliability, and efficiency of all business systems within the bank.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Management

• Mitigate operational risk by ensuring timely performance of backups and test restores according to schedule.
• Promptly close audit findings and conduct Disaster Recovery tests as scheduled to maintain preparedness and minimize potential disruptions.

Service Availability

• Ensure continuous uptime and accessibility for all channels and business applications to serve customers and internal users effectively.
• Proactively limit unplanned downtime to minimize disruptions and ensure the bank returns to operational status within the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) in any eventuality.

Service Desk Management

• Effectively resolve raised tickets by closely monitoring the ticket closure process and ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Liaise with stakeholders for timely ticket resolution and handle escalations when necessary to maintain high service standards and customer satisfaction.

Project Implementation

• Ensure successful implementation of IT business systems projects by achieving all project milestones.
• Actively participate in the implementation and testing of projects outside IT as required, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across the organization.

End-of-Day Batch Processing

• Ensure successful completion of end-of-day batch processing by overseeing processes on Core Banking, Clearing System, and Recoveries System to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Promptly escalate any issues that may delay batch processing to facilitate timely resolution and maintain operational efficiency.

Team Management

• Ensure effective team management by providing guidance, training, and support to enhance team effectiveness and efficiency in achieving organizational goals.

Cost Reduction

• Decrease costs for business systems solutions by ensuring the deployment of cost-effective solutions and renegotiating vendor contracts where applicable to optimize expenditure without compromising quality or functionality.

Systems Monitoring

• Enhance the efficiency of business systems by proactively identifying areas of inefficiency or bottlenecks and recommending improvements to optimize performance and streamline operations.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an IT-related field.
• Thorough knowledge of Linux/Unix, Oracle MySQL, and MSSQL.
• Project Management experience is essential.
• Minimum two years’ experience supporting business applications.
