Role Overview
We are looking for a committed educator to teach Biology and Chemistry to students following the British International Curriculum, with a focus on IGCSE and A Level classes. In this role, you will plan and deliver lessons, assess student progress, and contribute to a positive learning atmosphere that encourages academic excellence and personal growth. Your work directly supports the school’s aim of preparing students for external examinations and building their confidence in science subjects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver well-structured lessons in Biology and Chemistry that align with the British International Curriculum for IGCSE and A Level.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage students with different learning needs and abilities.
- Design and administer assessments, mark work promptly, and provide clear feedback to help students improve.
- Track individual student progress and maintain accurate records for reporting to parents and school leadership.
- Collaborate with fellow science teachers to align lesson plans, share resources, and support departmental goals.
- Integrate modern technology and active-learning methods into classroom practice to prepare students for the 21st century.
- Lead or support at least one co-curricular activity, such as a science club, academic competition, or sports team.
- Attend staff meetings, participate in professional development, and contribute to broader school activities as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree or an equivalent teaching qualification accepted by the Teachers Service Commission.
- At least two years of experience teaching the British International Curriculum, with specific experience in IGCSE and/or A Level Biology and Chemistry.
- Full and valid registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
- Strong understanding of current pedagogical approaches, including differentiated instruction, formative assessment, and digital learning tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging students, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative attitude in a school environment.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage curriculum deadlines and exam preparation.
- Willingness to contribute a co-curricular activity to enrich student life beyond the classroom.
