Job Description

Role Overview

This is a teaching position for a qualified educator who will deliver Cambridge IGCSE lessons to secondary students in a specific subject area. You will plan and present engaging lessons that align with the British curriculum, assess learner progress continuously, and work closely with colleagues to uphold academic standards. Your daily contribution directly shapes exam readiness and the overall learning environment of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver IGCSE lessons in your subject area, following Cambridge syllabus requirements and school scheme of work.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and keep students actively engaged.
  • Set and mark assignments, tests, and practical work, then provide clear feedback to help students improve.
  • Track individual student performance and identify those who need extra support or enrichment.
  • Maintain a well-managed classroom atmosphere that encourages discipline, participation, and mutual respect.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and Cambridge checkpoint/mock examinations where applicable.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians about student progress, behaviour, and any concerns.
  • Participate in staff meetings, departmental planning, and professional development sessions.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Education degree in a relevant teaching subject.
  • Valid registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
  • At least one year of experience teaching the IGCSE or Cambridge curriculum.
  • Proven classroom management skills and a genuine commitment to learner success.
  • Experience working with a candidate class (final-year exam group) is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, organization, and lesson-planning abilities.

What We Offer / Why Join

This role offers a monthly salary ranging between KES 25,000 and KES 45,000, depending on your experience and qualifications. You will work in a structured school environment where your teaching directly impacts students' examination outcomes and future academic paths.
