Role Overview
As a subject teacher on the IGCSE track, you will deliver engaging lessons that align with the Cambridge framework while helping students build both academic confidence and independent thinking skills. You will take charge of planning, instruction, and continuous assessment, working closely with learners to ensure steady progress and strong results. This role matters because your classroom will be the main place where students experience the rigour and relevance of the Cambridge curriculum, shaping their readiness for exams and future study.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons across assigned subject areas, following the IGCSE syllabus and school-wide academic calendars.
- Develop formative and summative assessments that measure learner understanding against Cambridge benchmarks.
- Mark and provide constructive, timely feedback on assignments, tests, and exam practice work.
- Maintain a positive, well-structured classroom environment that supports focused learning and learner participation.
- Track individual student progress, identifying areas for improvement and adapting teaching strategies to meet varied needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behaviour, and development.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to align instructional practices and share resources for the Cambridge programme.
- Support students preparing for external examinations, including revision sessions and targeted practice.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education degree in a relevant subject area.
- Valid Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration.
- At least one year of teaching experience with the IGCSE or Cambridge curriculum.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and a strong commitment to learner success.
- Experience teaching a candidate class is an added advantage.
