Role Overview
This position sits at the intersection of revenue and delivery for a technology business selling custom software, digital products and enterprise IT services to corporate clients. Day to day, you own the commercial pipeline from first contact through signed deal, then stay close to project execution to make sure the numbers on paper hold up once work begins. The role matters because growth here depends on disciplined follow-through: profitable projects, paying clients, and sales, marketing, finance and engineering teams all pulling in the same direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and work a B2B opportunity pipeline across target corporate sectors, moving prospects from initial interest through proposal, negotiation and signed contract.
- Personally handle high-value accounts, including solution presentations, pricing discussions and closing conversations with senior client stakeholders.
- Grow repeat and subscription-based income by positioning support agreements, maintenance retainers and SaaS-style recurring plans alongside one-off software builds.
- Guide and supervise Business Development Managers and sales representatives, checking that leads are contacted quickly and that deals keep moving rather than stalling at a stage.
- Partner with the digital marketing team on campaigns, referral arrangements and outbound outreach, then judge which channels produce genuinely qualified leads rather than volume alone.
- Track commercial performance on live projects — agreed scope, billing milestones, delivery costs and gross margin — and flag any engagement drifting toward a loss.
- Work alongside Finance on invoicing schedules, aged receivables and follow-up on overdue payments so cash collection keeps pace with work delivered.
- Keep developers, client service staff, marketers and finance controllers aligned on priorities, deadlines and performance targets, and report regularly on sales velocity, revenue, pipeline health and collections.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Management, Information Technology or a comparable discipline.
- Two to four years in B2B commercial operations, corporate sales, business development or account management.
- Prior experience inside a software company, technology firm, digital agency or SaaS business is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of B2B buying cycles, proposal writing and the practical mechanics of getting a deal over the line.
- Comfort with numbers: reading revenue reports, unit economics, project margin calculations and collections data without support.
- Proven ability to hold both sides accountable — managing what clients expect while keeping internal technical and commercial teams to their commitments.
- Strong coordination and communication skills for a role that moves constantly between commercial, financial and technical conversations.
