Senior System Analyst

Role Overview

This position is centered on digging deeply into existing systems and business processes to identify where performance can be improved, then turning those findings into practical technical solutions. Day to day, you will collect and interpret requirements from stakeholders, map out efficient workflows, write and modify scripts for small-scale fixes or automation, and support the rollout of system updates. Your work will directly support smoother operations and help ensure that technical changes align with what the business actually needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate current system behaviour and business workflows to uncover bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Work with business users and technical teams to capture, document, and validate detailed functional and technical requirements.
• Design and model system workflows that are clear, maintainable, and aligned with operational objectives.
• Develop and maintain small-scale code changes, scripts, and configuration updates that enhance system functionality or automate repetitive tasks.
• Coordinate the implementation of system enhancements, including testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth deployment.
• Help integrate systems by working with APIs and supporting data exchange between applications.
• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and developers, translating business needs into clear technical specifications and explaining technical decisions in business terms.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in system analysis, business analysis, or a comparable technical role.
• Strong coding and scripting skills in Java, JavaScript, PL/SQL, or similar languages, with a proven ability to build small-scale enhancements and automation.
• Practical knowledge of relational databases such as SQL and PL/SQL, including writing queries and understanding data structures.
• Working familiarity with APIs, system integration approaches, and how different applications exchange data.
• Experience using workflow modelling tools and coding frameworks to design or document system processes.
• Relevant certifications in programming, cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS, or Agile practices are a plus.
