Role Overview
This role sits at the intersection of research, brand, trade, social media, and design, turning fragmented marketing efforts into a unified go-to-market engine. Day to day, you’ll lead a team that gathers and interprets customer feedback, then uses that intelligence to shape every campaign, in-market activation, and piece of creative content the business produces. The work matters because it ensures every customer touchpoint—from digital ads to field events—is rooted in real behaviour, consistently on-brand, and directly tied to driving acquisition, retention, and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the end-to-end consumer insights strategy, guiding both in-house researchers and external partners to capture actionable data across the full customer lifecycle—from initial awareness through onboarding, usage, and retention.
- Translate research findings into clear, data-backed marketing plans and brand positioning updates that align with commercial targets.
- Provide strategic direction to trade marketing teams, ensuring field activations, dealer engagements, and in-market branding efforts are co-ordinated with sales priorities and measurable ROI.
- Oversee the social media lead to turn digital channels into real-time sources of customer sentiment, lead generation, and support feedback loops.
- Set the creative direction for the graphic design function, reviewing all campaign visuals, trade materials, and digital assets for brand consistency, quality, and timely delivery.
- Build and maintain reporting dashboards that track key performance indicators such as customer satisfaction, cost of acquisition, lifetime value, trade marketing ROI, and creative throughput.
- Establish structured feedback mechanisms that channel customer insights into product development, sales strategy, and customer success teams, ensuring the voice of the customer informs business-wide decisions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team spanning insights analysts, telephonic researchers, a social media lead, a graphic designer, and trade marketing specialists, fostering an insight-driven culture.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or a related field; a Master’s degree (preferably MBA) is a strong plus.
- 5–7 years of total experience in marketing, consumer insights, trade marketing, or brand management, with at least 4 years in a people management or team leadership capacity.
- Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams that include research, social media, trade marketing, and/or design functions.
- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making, with experience building and using dashboards and KPIs.
- Ability to think strategically about brand, customer behaviour, and commercial outcomes while maintaining meticulous oversight of creative and field execution.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, particularly when translating data into compelling narratives for different commercial teams.
- Experience in high-growth sectors (fintech, telecom, energy, FMCG) is an advantage, as is a background in both B2B and B2C environments.
