Purpose of the Role

The Senior Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for the deployment, administration, security, and performance optimization of enterprise server environments, virtualized platforms, network security infrastructure, and physical ICT assets. Serving as a Tier-2/Tier-3 escalation point, the position ensures operational uptime, robust cybersecurity defense, disaster recovery preparedness, and smooth system administration across Windows and Linux deployments.

Key Responsibilities

System & Virtualization Administration

• Provision, configure, patch, and maintain Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat, Rocky Linux) environments.

• Build, monitor, and manage virtual machines using enterprise platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox).

• Perform continuous system performance monitoring, data backups, capacity planning, and disaster recovery testing.

Network & Cybersecurity Management

• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise network assets including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

• Implement network segmentation (VLANs), routing protocols, DNS/DHCP services, and secure VPN connections.

• Enforce access controls, monitor security event logs, perform vulnerability assessments, and lead incident response actions.

Hardware & Asset Management

• Set up, troubleshoot, and repair servers, network storage systems, desktops, laptops, and peripheral hardware.

• Maintain complete ICT asset inventories, lifecycle documentation, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

• Support ongoing infrastructure modernization, cloud migration initiatives (Azure/AWS/GCP), and security enhancements.

Candidate Profile

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in systems administration, network engineering, or cybersecurity operations.

• Language & Availability: Fluent in English; available for full-time work (Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM).

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Operating Systems & Virtualization: Windows Server, Linux distributions, VMware, Hyper-V, and Proxmox.

• Networking & Security: TCP/IP, VLANs, Routing/Switching, Firewalls, VPNs, and Access Control.

• Automation & Tools: Scripting capabilities in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

• Preferred Certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Network+/Security+, MCSA/Windows Server Hybrid, RHCSA, LPIC-1, or Fortinet FCA.
