Job Description

Role Overview

This role strengthens the organisation’s people strategy by leading analytics, performance management, learning and development, and culture-shaping work. Day to day, the role builds data dashboards, monitors workforce metrics, and partners with HR teams to turn insights into action. It matters because it equips leadership with evidence to make smarter decisions on talent, succession, and engagement — directly supporting a high-performance workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain HR dashboards and scorecards that track recruitment velocity, turnover rates, absenteeism, engagement scores, training impact, and performance trends.
  • Oversee the entire performance management cycle — from goal-setting and mid-year reviews to annual appraisals, improvement plans, and calibration sessions — ensuring compliance and fairness.
  • Coordinate learning and development programmes by conducting needs assessments, curating training plans, delivering leadership development, and evaluating programme effectiveness.
  • Lead employee engagement surveys and culture diagnostics, then facilitate action planning to improve wellbeing, collaboration, and alignment with organisational values.
  • Provide workforce analytics to support talent management and succession planning, using capability assessments to identify current and future leaders.
  • Drive culture transformation initiatives that reinforce desired behaviours, accountability, service excellence, and open communication across teams.
  • Develop and monitor HR key performance indicators (KPIs), preparing periodic reports for executive management and board committees to guide strategic decisions.
  • Ensure HRIS data integrity and reporting compliance while partnering with HR generalists and employee relations colleagues to address workforce challenges holistically.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related business field from a recognised institution.
  • A master’s degree in HR, Business Administration (MBA), Organisational Development, or a closely related field is an added advantage.
  • Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP-K) qualification is mandatory.
  • Active and current membership with the Institute of Human Resources Management (IHRM) in Kenya.
  • Additional certification in HR Analytics, Performance Management, Organisational Development, Learning & Development, or Change Management.
  • At least five years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of three years focused specifically on HR analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and current HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate data from multiple sources, analyse metrics, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Proven leadership, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills across all levels.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and business acumen.
