Role Overview
Treasure Communications Ltd is looking for a dependable Day/Night Security Guard to safeguard our premises, property and the people who work within them. Working shifts across a rotating day and night schedule, you will act as the first point of contact for everyone entering the site while keeping a constant watch for anything that threatens safety or security. This position sits at the front line of our operations — your alertness, judgement and calm presence directly protect our assets and allow the rest of the team to work without concern.
Key Responsibilities
- Control access at entry and exit points by verifying the identity and purpose of visitors, contractors and deliveries before allowing them onto the premises.
- Carry out regular foot and perimeter patrols throughout your shift, varying routes and timings so that coverage is never predictable.
- Monitor the site continuously for suspicious behaviour, unauthorised entry, fire hazards, leaks or equipment faults, and act on anything unusual without delay.
- Maintain accurate records in the occurrence book and daily report, documenting patrols, incidents, visitors and any handover notes for the incoming guard.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances and emergencies, taking immediate steps to contain the situation and escalating to management or emergency services as required.
- Administer basic first aid and support evacuation or fire response procedures until professional help arrives.
- Diffuse confrontations and disputes calmly, using measured communication to restore order without escalating tension.
- Greet staff, visitors and clients courteously, directing them appropriately and answering routine enquiries in a helpful manner.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent.
- Completed formal security guard training.
- First Aid certification.
- Fire Safety and Prevention training.
- A valid security licence, or the ability and willingness to obtain one.
- Strong observational skills, with the vigilance to detect suspicious activity quickly and the judgement to decide on the right response.
- Clear spoken and written communication for reporting incidents and coordinating with colleagues.
- Proven ability to stay composed under pressure and defuse confrontations while maintaining order.
- Physical fitness sufficient to stand, walk and patrol for extended periods and to respond quickly to emergencies.
- A friendly, approachable and professional attitude in all dealings with visitors and staff.
- Availability to work rotating day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Applications close on 18th September, 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stage of the process.
