Role Overview
This is a frontline growth and member-relationship role for a savings and credit society, where you will spend your days in the market finding prospective members, sitting down with them to understand their financial circumstances, and converting that understanding into accounts and product uptake. You will carry your own portfolio of members, keeping those relationships active and productive long after onboarding. The position matters because membership growth, retention and product depth are the lifeblood of the Society — your work directly expands and strengthens the base it serves.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate a steady flow of prospective members using prospecting, networking, referrals, cold calling, direct selling and other approved acquisition channels.
- Meet with prospects to assess their needs, recommend suitable products, and walk them through account opening and activation from start to finish.
- Own and nurture a portfolio of member relationships, maintaining frequent contact to drive retention, loyalty and additional business.
- Hold needs-based conversations that uncover financial gaps, then cross-sell and promote the Society's products, services and financial solutions to close those gaps.
- Plan and take part in member education sessions, sales activations, outreach programmes and product campaigns to build awareness and generate leads.
- Act as the service point of contact for your assigned portfolios — answering enquiries, resolving issues and coordinating complaint resolution with the relevant internal teams.
- Keep member and prospect records accurate and up to date, monitor portfolio activity, capture member feedback, and prepare periodic sales and performance reports.
- Ensure that every acquisition, onboarding and relationship management activity meets KYC, due diligence, internal policy and regulatory requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in a business-related discipline from a recognised institution; a bachelor's degree is an added advantage.
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, customer relationship management, banking or financial services.
- Proven ability to prospect for new business, acquire and retain customers, meet sales targets and build relationships that last.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation and customer service skills, with the confidence to engage a diverse mix of member segments.
- Solid numerical and analytical ability, plus report-writing skills — comfortable tracking sales performance, maintaining accurate records and producing periodic reports.
- Self-driven and target-oriented, with the discipline to manage your own pipeline and portfolio while working within compliance and due diligence frameworks.
