Job Description

Role Overview

This full-time internship places you directly in the field and office of a medical, scientific, and laboratory equipment supplier operating along the Eastern Bypass in Ruai, Nairobi. You will work alongside seasoned territory managers and technical specialists to identify prospective healthcare buyers, run promotional campaigns, manage sales leads, and support product presentations. The role is designed to give you practical exposure to B2B healthcare sales while contributing to the company’s revenue growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and qualify new customer accounts across hospitals, private clinics, research facilities, and diagnostic laboratories, building a healthy pipeline of potential orders.
  • Conduct consistent follow-ups on quotations, client visits, and inbound digital inquiries, pushing opportunities toward closure and meeting monthly sales targets.
  • Execute field-based outreach activities, including product activation events, trade displays, and direct engagement with healthcare procurement staff.
  • Support digital marketing efforts by creating and scheduling content for social media channels, while tracking engagement and inbound lead responses.
  • Carry out regional market research on customer preferences, pricing trends, and competitor offerings, summarising findings for the sales team.
  • Assist in arranging live product demonstrations and technical presentations tailored to clinical buyers, lab managers, and purchasing decision-makers.
  • Maintain strong communication with existing accounts to drive repeat purchases and request referrals from satisfied clients.
  • Coordinate with warehousing, logistics, and finance departments to ensure smooth order processing, accurate documentation, and timely delivery to customers.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Business Management, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 0–1 year of internship or entry-level exposure in sales, marketing, or customer-facing roles, preferably within a B2B environment.
  • Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with spreadsheets, email communication, and social media management tools.
  • Strong verbal presentation and negotiation abilities, with confidence to engage doctors, lab managers, and procurement personnel.
  • A self-motivated, target-driven attitude and a willingness to learn about medical devices, diagnostic instruments, and scientific laboratory equipment.
  • Excellent organisational skills for tracking leads, maintaining client records, and preparing weekly activity summaries.
  • Must be comfortable with on-site and field work along the Eastern Bypass corridor; candidates residing in Ruai, Kamakis, Utawala, or nearby areas will have an added advantage.

What We Offer / Why Join

This is a paid internship with a monthly stipend of KSh 20,000, plus performance-based commissions linked to successful sales conversions. You will gain hands-on training in healthcare equipment sales, direct mentorship from experienced territory managers, and a clear pathway to grow into a full sales role within the company. The position offers a dynamic mix of fieldwork, client relationship building, and marketing exposure that can anchor your long-term career in medical and laboratory supply sales.
