Role Overview
You will be the face of our company in the field, travelling across an assigned territory to sell braking system components—including linings, pads, discs, drums, and shoes—along with bearings and riveting services. Day to day, you will visit workshops, parts dealers, and transport operators, identify what they need, and turn those conversations into consistent orders. Your work directly supports road safety and keeps commercial and private vehicles running, while also protecting our cash flow by ensuring customers pay on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect aggressively through in-person visits, cold calling, and networking to open new accounts and grow your customer base.
- Present and sell a full range of friction materials, brake components, bearings, and related services, so customers get everything they need from one supplier.
- Build lasting relationships with spare-parts retailers, independent garages, mechanics, distributors, and fleet operators—understanding their buying patterns and becoming a trusted advisor.
- Prepare accurate price quotations, respond quickly to enquiries, and follow up consistently to move leads through the sales pipeline to closed orders.
- Manage existing accounts by monitoring stock needs, encouraging repeat purchases, and resolving service issues before they affect the relationship.
- Chase outstanding payments and work with customers to keep overdue balances within agreed terms.
- Track competitor pricing, product availability, and promotions in your territory, and feed that intelligence back to the sales manager.
- Hit monthly sales and collection targets while keeping customer records and visit logs updated for management review.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in sales, marketing, business, automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- At least two years of proven field sales or business development experience, ideally selling technical products rather than fast-moving consumer goods.
- Hands-on familiarity with automotive spare parts—especially brake systems, bearings, tyres, lubricants, or similar mechanical components—is a major plus.
- A solid understanding of how the spare-parts market works, including distribution channels, garage buying behaviour, and price sensitivity.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the confidence to handle objections and justify value to price-focused buyers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, plus the ability to listen to customer pain points and respond with practical solutions.
- Self-discipline and time-management skills to work independently and plan efficient travel routes across a wide territory.
- A valid driving licence and willingness to spend significant time on the road are strongly preferred.
