Role Overview
This is an on-the-road cosmetics sales position focused on growing revenue, retail coverage and brand visibility for hair and beauty ranges across salons, cosmetic shops and supermarkets in Nakuru or Nairobi. The person in this role manages a set of retail accounts, keeps products well presented and in stock, and looks for new outlets that can carry the line. The work matters because it turns day-to-day store relationships and shelf execution into measurable sales growth for a cosmetics, beauty and personal care business.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of high-end haircare and beauty products to salon owners, cosmetics retailers and supermarket buyers, working toward daily, weekly and monthly targets.
- Find, pitch and onboard new stockists so the product reaches more retail points across the assigned area.
- Capture retailer orders correctly and follow up so accounts are replenished before stockouts occur.
- Secure strong shelf positions, including eye-level placement and high-visibility displays, and keep stock neat and ready for shoppers.
- Set up POS displays, promotional signage and product testers according to brand standards, while checking that retail pricing stays consistent.
- Run product demonstrations and brief shop staff, buyers and floor attendants on benefits, usage and ingredients.
- Watch competitor promotions, pricing shifts and shelf activity, then share clear market feedback with management.
- Keep reliable records of territory routes, outlet visits, stock checks and sales performance, submitting them as required.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in sales, marketing, business administration or a related field.
- At least two years of active field sales experience in FMCG, cosmetics, personal care or haircare.
- Practical knowledge of retail merchandising, field route planning and managing distributor or retail outlets.
- Confident face-to-face selling, negotiation and consultative pitching skills, especially with small business owners and retail buyers.
- Ability to build lasting relationships with shop owners, buyers and store attendants.
- Willingness and physical readiness to spend most of the working day travelling and visiting retail outlets.
- Sound record-keeping ability for sales numbers, stock audits and territory activity logs.
What We Offer / Why Join
The position comes with a monthly base salary of KSH 30,000 plus performance commissions, so earnings can increase as targets are achieved. It is a full-time, field-based role in Nakuru or Nairobi, with work carried out on-site at retail outlets and along merchandising routes.
