Role Overview
This role exists to expand access to Shariah-compliant financial services and grow the Sacco’s member base and product usage. Day to day, it combines field sales, community engagement, member education, portfolio follow-up, and CRM reporting. It matters because it connects ethical finance products with members who need them while supporting compliant, relationship-led growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and run sales activations, campaigns, community events, and outreach activities that promote Shariah-compliant savings, financing, and other approved products.
- Help members and prospective members understand Islamic financial solutions, including savings and financing options, so they can make informed decisions and see the value of the products.
- Introduce the Sacco’s wider product and service range to both existing and new members, with the aim of deepening relationships and increasing uptake.
- Spot and cultivate new market opportunities and member segments, especially within Muslim communities, to create sustainable business growth.
- Contribute to market research, collect member feedback, and take part in financial literacy efforts that feed into product and service improvements.
- Develop durable member relationships and manage an assigned portfolio so accounts stay active and properly funded, following up with members as needed.
- Record member applications and supporting information accurately in the CRM, and submit weekly and monthly sales and performance reports within set deadlines.
- Keep all sales, onboarding, and member engagement activities aligned with Shariah principles, KYC and due diligence requirements, and Sacco policies and procedures; handle other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in a business-related field from a recognized institution; a bachelor’s degree will be an added advantage.
- At least three years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, customer relationship management, banking, or financial services.
- A track record of prospecting for new business, acquiring and retaining customers, achieving sales targets, and building sustainable customer relationships.
- Solid grasp of sales and relationship management, customer acquisition, KYC and due diligence requirements, and Shariah-compliant financial products and principles.
- Comfort using CRM systems to capture applications and track sales activity.
- Training or certification in Islamic banking and finance is an added advantage.
- Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
