Job Title: Senior Leadership – Strategy, Growth & Operations
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to drive business growth, operational excellence, and market leadership in the banking or microfinance sector. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep experience in commercial management, brand building, digital innovation, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Business Growth
- Develop and execute long-term strategic plans to achieve revenue and market share targets
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments
- Drive profitability through data-driven decision making and resource allocation
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to inform strategy
Sales Management
- Set ambitious sales targets and design effective sales processes across all channels
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to consistently exceed performance goals
- Analyze sales data and adjust tactics to optimize conversion, retention, and cross-selling
- Establish strong relationships with key clients and institutional partners
Marketing, Brand and Customer Experience
- Define and champion the brand vision, positioning, and voice across all touchpoints
- Oversee integrated marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and loyalty
- Continuously improve customer journey and satisfaction through feedback loops and service innovation
- Ensure consistent, on-brand communications and a premium customer experience
Digital and Product Innovation
- Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer convenience
- Drive the development and launch of new products and features that meet evolving market needs
- Leverage data analytics, AI, and emerging technologies to create competitive advantage
- Collaborate with IT and product teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery
Leadership and People
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team aligned with organizational values
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and development opportunities
- Lead by example with integrity, resilience, and a growth mindset
Qualifications and Experience
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree (MBA) is an added advantage
- Professional qualification such as CIM, MSK, or equivalent; membership in a relevant professional body
- At least 10 years' experience in banking or microfinance operations, with 5 years at senior management level
Preferred:
- Proven track record in driving revenue growth and operational transformation
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Deep understanding of digital financial services and customer-centric innovation
