Job Description

Role Overview

This role is about turning market insight into measurable revenue for a full-service resort, spanning guest rooms, dining, meetings and events, and spa experiences. You will spend your time building a durable pipeline of corporate, association, and leisure clients—both locally and internationally—while strengthening existing relationships to ensure repeat and referral business. Your daily focus sits at the intersection of strategic territory management and hands-on client engagement: identifying where demand is shifting, representing the property with confidence, and converting leads into signed agreements that hit revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor market activity, competitor positioning, and buyer behaviour across your assigned territories to spot emerging revenue opportunities and adapt sales tactics accordingly.
  • Represent the resort at industry networking events, trade shows, tourism expos, and local business gatherings, using these settings to generate qualified leads and elevate brand visibility.
  • Develop and maintain a structured account portfolio covering corporate, MICE, and leisure segments, ensuring consistent outreach, follow-up, and relationship cultivation across each tier.
  • Conduct high-energy, professional site inspections for prospective clients, tailoring each tour to the buyer’s event goals, budget, and desired guest experience.
  • Coordinate custom proposals and bookings across departments—including bespoke itineraries, banquet menus, room blocks, and group spa packages—so every client receives a seamless, unified offer.
  • Negotiate room rates, event packages, and contract terms, then close agreements using approved seasonal promotions, corporate pricing structures, and tactical discounts to maximise yield.
  • Partner with local event organisers, wedding planners, and social groups to secure repeat bookings and convert one-off events into ongoing relationships.
  • Track deposits, manage outstanding invoices, and coordinate with finance to ensure all confirmed business is settled accurately and on time.
  • Embed responsible tourism and eco-conscious practices into client proposals, aligning your sales approach with the resort’s sustainability commitments and community partnerships.
  • Maintain precise, up-to-date records of every sales call, client meeting, contract status, and activity milestone in the property’s sales tracking systems.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in hospitality management, business administration, sales and marketing, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of five years of direct, proven sales experience within a four- or five-star hotel, resort, or luxury travel environment.
  • Established track record of consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets across rooms, food and beverage, MICE, and leisure segments.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including the ability to read market trends, structure pricing proposals, and negotiate contracts that balance client satisfaction with profitability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present to senior corporate buyers, association decision-makers, and event planners.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated approach to managing a complex portfolio and meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with hotel sales tools, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office, or the demonstrated ability to learn property-specific systems quickly.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally for client meetings, industry events, and property promotional activities when required.
