Role Overview
This position supports a central research team by turning raw customer feedback and operational data into clear, usable insights. Working closely with the Head of Research or a delegated supervisor, you will help build and maintain the dashboards, reports, and survey processes that business units rely on to understand their customers. The placement is structured as a learning role: you will contribute to real research work while developing practical skills in data handling, analysis, and presentation, with every output reviewed before it is used.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather customer-related data from surveys, complaints, service interactions, campaigns, and internal business teams, ensuring requests are tracked and completed on time.
- Clean and validate incoming datasets, correct inconsistencies, and consolidate information into standard templates and formats.
- Help design and administer customer questionnaires and feedback tools, including monitoring response rates and chasing outstanding data.
- Review customer feedback to spot patterns, service pain points, and opportunities for product or service improvements.
- Prepare and refresh recurring insight materials such as dashboards, progress trackers, segmentation views, journey maps, and campaign summaries.
- Carry out secondary research on customer behaviour, experience best practices, and trends in financial services, summarising findings for the team.
- Create charts, tables, draft reports, and slide decks, and support meetings by taking notes and following up on action items.
- Keep research records organised and follow all relevant rules on data protection, confidentiality, and information security.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Business Analytics, Market Research, or a closely related subject.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply; no prior full-time work experience is required.
- Relevant exposure from an internship, industrial attachment, academic research project, data analysis assignment, or business case is an advantage.
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills, with a genuine interest in interpreting customer data and feedback.
- Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including the ability to organise and present data neatly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with clear and concise reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- A collaborative mindset that welcomes feedback, learns quickly, and works reliably in a team environment.
- Demonstrated integrity and discretion when handling sensitive customer and business information.
