Role Overview
This position sits at the core of our lending operations, where you will be responsible for growing a healthy loan portfolio while safeguarding repayment performance. Day to day, you will engage with both prospective and existing borrowers, assess their financing needs, guide them through the application process, and maintain consistent follow-up to ensure obligations are met on time. Your ability to balance sales drive with disciplined collection practices directly supports our financial stability and reputation in the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and attract new clients through proactive outreach, referrals, and relationship building within the community and business networks.
- Retain existing clients by maintaining regular contact, understanding their evolving needs, and offering suitable loan products or restructuring options where appropriate.
- Meet monthly and quarterly targets for loan disbursement, ensuring approved applications move through processing efficiently.
- Monitor outstanding accounts and execute timely collection strategies, including follow-up calls, visits, and negotiated repayment plans.
- Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service by responding promptly to inquiries, explaining terms clearly, and resolving issues with patience and professionalism.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, loan files, payment histories, and collection actions in line with internal policies.
- Assess borrower creditworthiness and repayment capacity during the origination stage, flagging risks early to minimize defaults.
- Collaborate with credit, operations, and management teams to streamline processes and escalate complex accounts when necessary.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of two years of hands-on experience as a loan officer, collection officer, or relationship officer in a financial services setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial products clearly to a diverse client base.
- Proven customer service orientation, including the ability to remain composed and helpful even when handling difficult conversations about overdue payments.
- Effective negotiation skills, demonstrated through successful repayment arrangements or client-facing problem resolution.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with loan management systems or CRM software is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet performance targets without close supervision.
