Role Overview
This role sits inside a growing team at Family Bank and is built around the daily rhythms of professional banking work — serving customers, assessing and monitoring credit, and keeping transactions and records in line with regulatory expectations. You will be trusted to handle your own workload end to end, escalate what needs escalating, and bring ideas for doing things faster or more accurately rather than simply repeating the way things have always been done. Because the team is expanding, the person who steps in will have a real hand in how that growth is absorbed and organised.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of customer relationships, acting as the first point of contact for account queries, product requests and service issues, and following each one through to resolution.
- Prepare and present credit proposals, including financial analysis of borrower statements, repayment capacity, collateral assessment and recommended terms.
- Monitor existing facilities for arrears, covenant breaches and early warning signs, and take or recommend corrective action before exposure worsens.
- Complete customer due diligence, know-your-customer checks and anti-money-laundering screening accurately, and keep supporting documentation current and audit-ready.
- Reconcile accounts, verify transaction records and investigate discrepancies with internal departments until they are cleared.
- Produce periodic portfolio and performance reports for management, drawing out trends rather than just restating figures.
- Work alongside product, operations, risk and compliance colleagues to launch or improve services and to resolve cross-departmental bottlenecks.
- Keep pace with changes in banking regulation and internal policy, and apply them consistently in day-to-day decisions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics or a closely related discipline.
- Three or more years of hands-on experience in banking, financial services or a comparable customer-facing analytical role.
- Working knowledge of credit appraisal, financial statement analysis and lending documentation.
- Familiarity with KYC, AML and regulatory reporting obligations in a banking environment.
- Strong numerical accuracy and confident use of core banking systems, spreadsheets and reporting tools.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical or financial detail to customers and colleagues who are not specialists.
- Demonstrated ownership of tasks — able to prioritise competing deadlines, work independently and flag risks early.
- A record of contributing ideas that improved a process, a service or a result, not just delivering assigned tasks.
Why Join
- Join a team that is actively growing, where your expertise, creativity and ambition will be put to use rather than parked.
- Take on responsibility early, with genuine influence over how work is organised as the team expands.
- Work on a mix of customer-facing and analytical tasks, so the role keeps developing your commercial and technical judgement.
