Regional Director – Asia, Africa & Oceania

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded leader to drive Rainforest Alliance’s regional strategy across Asia, Africa and Oceania. In this role, you will lead a diverse team, build strategic partnerships, grow revenue and impact, and represent the organisation externally to advance sustainable sourcing and supply chain transformation. You will shape regional engagement plans, monitor performance, and act as the voice of the market internally.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

  • Develop and implement regional engagement and growth strategies that strengthen Rainforest Alliance’s position across Asia, Africa and Oceania, delivering annual revenue, partnership and impact objectives.
  • Lead and develop a regional team (circa 8 people) to grow commercial performance, building existing business, forging strategic relationships, identifying new opportunities, and achieving year‑on‑year revenue growth.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics, forecasts and reporting for the regional portfolio, collaborating with Revenue Operations and using data, analytics and stakeholder feedback to guide decision‑making and improve performance.
  • Analyse sustainability trends, regulatory developments, market dynamics and customer insights to identify opportunities for impact, engagement and revenue growth, and provide strategic recommendations to inform organisational priorities.
  • Be the voice of the customer and market internally, helping ensure Rainforest Alliance’s solutions, services and strategies remain relevant and responsive to evolving stakeholder needs.
  • Build, lead and develop a high‑performing team that reflects Rainforest Alliance’s values, fostering a positive, inclusive working environment while supporting professional growth and accountability.
  • Provide leadership, collaboration and strategic support across the global Corporate Engagement & Partnerships team.

Advocacy and External Engagement

  • Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with key external stakeholders across sustainability, procurement, corporate affairs, government and civil society to strengthen Rainforest Alliance’s influence and insight.
  • Convene and facilitate cross‑sector dialogue on shared sustainability challenges and opportunities, supporting collaboration and system‑level change across priority markets.
  • Represent Rainforest Alliance at external forums, industry events and roundtables, positioning the organisation as a trusted voice on sustainable sourcing and supply chain transformation.
  • Strengthen Rainforest Alliance’s visibility, credibility and thought leadership across the region through strategic engagement and speaking opportunities.
  • In collaboration with the Communications team, shape and deliver external‑facing content, insights and messaging that amplify regional impact and organisational priorities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s‑level education or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years’ experience in senior B2B commercial roles, including complex sales, partnership development, or client leadership within international or matrix organisations.
  • Proven track record in developing and leading go‑to‑market strategies that deliver revenue growth and profitability, alongside external engagement, senior stakeholder management, and representation in multi‑stakeholder environments.
  • Experience with sustainability, ESG or impact‑driven business models within FMCG, agriculture, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, forest products, or sustainability consultancy sectors.
  • Ability to build, leverage and activate senior‑level networks to lead commercial opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to inspire, develop and hold teams accountable, combined with a proven commercial track record.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
