Psychology Teacher

Role Overview

This position centers on delivering high-quality Psychology instruction at the secondary level, helping students grasp complex concepts while building critical thinking skills. You will guide learners through the Cambridge curriculum, with particular focus on preparing candidate classes for external examinations. Your teaching will directly shape students' academic outcomes and their confidence in approaching psychological theory and research.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Psychology lessons that align with Cambridge syllabus objectives and school academic standards.
• Assess student understanding through a mix of formative and summative evaluation, including graded assignments, tests, and examination practice.
• Provide targeted support to candidate-class students, helping them refine exam technique and master key topics ahead of their final papers.
• Maintain a structured and positive classroom environment that encourages participation, intellectual curiosity, and mutual respect.
• Track individual learner progress and communicate regular feedback to students, parents, and academic leadership as needed.
• Develop and adapt instructional resources, including case studies, research examples, and practice questions, to suit diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with fellow teaching staff to align interdisciplinary approaches and uphold consistent assessment practices.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events that support the broader academic community.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education degree with a teaching subject in Psychology (this is compulsory for consideration).
• Valid registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• At least two years of teaching experience at the secondary level, with demonstrated effectiveness in learner engagement and outcomes.
• Prior experience with the Cambridge curriculum is a strong advantage, as is familiarity with its assessment style.
• Proven classroom management skills and a commitment to fostering student success inside and beyond the classroom.
• Experience teaching a candidate or examination class is an added benefit, particularly in preparing students for high-stakes assessments.
