Role Overview
This position centers on safeguarding the accountability of both government-furnished and contractor-acquired property across the full lifecycle—from receipt to disposal. Day to day, you will keep property records current, execute physical counts, and coordinate with logistics and procurement teams to ensure every asset is tracked and compliant with federal regulations. Your attention to detail directly supports audit readiness and prevents loss or misuse of valuable equipment in a demanding, often remote operational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records for all government and contractor property, ensuring documentation aligns with applicable contract clauses and internal policies.
- Process property transactions including receipts, transfers, issuances, and disposals, verifying that each move is logged correctly in the official tracking system.
- Conduct cycle counts, wall-to-wall physical inventories, and reconciliation activities to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Update and manage the central property database, entering changes, tagging new assets, and flagging outdated or missing entries for correction.
- Coordinate with procurement, warehousing, and logistics staff to schedule moves and ensure proper storage and labeling standards are met.
- Assist in preparing status reports, variance summaries, and corrective action plans for submission to government property administrators and auditors.
- Monitor operations for compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other relevant government property regulations, escalating non-compliance issues as needed.
- Investigate instances of loss, damage, or destruction of assets, document root causes, and recommend practical steps to avoid recurrence.
- Support internal and external audits by pulling records, providing evidence, and walking auditors through property management workflows.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least 2–4 years of hands-on experience in property administration, asset management, or inventory control, preferably in a government contracting context.
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal coursework, certification, or additional training in property management is a plus.
- Practical familiarity with property management software and databases—experience with Maximo or similar enterprise asset systems is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS property management clauses, including how they apply to contractor-managed government property.
- Strong record-keeping and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to maintain precise documentation under deadline pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for building spreadsheets, analyzing inventory data, and generating reports.
- English language proficiency sufficient to perform contract duties and follow installation emergency procedures.
- A valid passport with at least one year of remaining validity at the time of hire.
- Eligibility to obtain country-specific visas in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
- Ability to pass required medical examinations and remain medically cleared for the full deployment period.
