Role Overview
You will take ownership of the digital consumer business, translating commercial objectives into executable growth plans that span the full customer lifecycle. This means working alongside product, data, marketing, and engineering teams every day to shape go-to-market strategy, refine acquisition and retention funnels, and ensure the digital portfolio meets its financial targets. Your work directly influences how the company develops, prices, and distributes digital products for individual consumers, with a strong focus on fintech and mobile money environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall commercialization strategy for the consumer segment, owning profit-and-loss outcomes, pricing structures, and investment decisions.
- Design and deliver go-to-market plans for new and existing digital products, coordinating with internal teams to ensure consistent execution and measurable results.
- Monitor commercial performance through defined metrics—revenue, profitability, channel adoption, customer retention, and conversion/win rates—then adapt strategy based on what the data shows.
- Run structured A/B tests and funnel optimization experiments across acquisition, activation, and retention stages, identifying what drives sustainable growth.
- Develop targeted loyalty and lifestyle retention programs, using customer insights to reduce churn and increase long-term engagement.
- Build and maintain relationships with banks, key corporate customers, and other ecosystem partners to expand product reach and deepen usage.
- Establish governance, onboarding standards, and quality assurance processes for the consumer unit, ensuring operational discipline and audit readiness.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data teams to influence product roadmaps and advocate for changes that improve user experience and commercial performance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field; an MBA or relevant certifications in digital marketing, analytics, or product growth are advantageous.
- Minimum five years of experience in product growth, product management, or digital marketing with a proven record of growing digital products.
- Strong familiarity with fintech, telecom, mobile money, or banking environments—particularly in African markets.
- Demonstrated ability to implement successful growth strategies that move key commercial metrics.
- Hands-on proficiency with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or SQL, and experience using data to guide decisions.
- Solid track record with A/B testing, funnel optimization, and customer segmentation techniques.
- Excellent project management, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across functions and seniority levels.
- Strong capability to translate customer insights and market trends into practical growth initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes.
