Role Overview
This position leads procurement and supply chain activities for an organisation operating in the automotive and fleet management space, reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Strategy. The day-to-day work involves sourcing goods and services, negotiating supplier terms, overseeing contract performance, and ensuring that purchasing decisions align with both operational needs and financial targets. The role matters because it protects cost efficiency, maintains supply continuity, and upholds compliance standards across every purchasing transaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that support organisational objectives and deliver measurable cost savings.
- Source and evaluate suppliers for quality, pricing, reliability, and alignment with business requirements.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service-level agreements with vendors while safeguarding the organisation’s interests.
- Manage the full vendor lifecycle, including onboarding, performance reviews, risk assessments, and relationship building.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
- Monitor market trends, supply risks, and commodity prices to inform purchasing decisions and mitigate disruptions.
- Oversee purchase orders, inventory levels, and delivery schedules to maintain efficient supply chain operations.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise procurement team members, fostering accountability and professional growth.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a closely related field.
- At least six years of relevant experience in procurement and supply chain management, including a minimum of three years in a managerial or senior supervisory capacity.
- Prior experience in a reputable organisation, preferably within the automotive, fleet management, or service-oriented industry.
- Demonstrated success in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics Navision or a similar platform.
- High integrity, excellent negotiation skills, and strong attention to detail.
