Role Overview
You will be the first point of contact for Talent Grid Africa’s growth engine, actively hunting new corporate accounts and nurturing early-stage interest in our recruitment and HR solutions. Day to day, you’ll combine structured outbound outreach with smart research to open doors with key decision-makers, then hand off qualified opportunities to senior consultants who close the deal. Your work directly feeds the pipeline, so your persistence and organisation determine how many new client relationships the company can build each quarter.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively map target sectors and companies, then build contact lists using online research, referrals, and cold outreach to uncover fresh business opportunities.
- Engage HR Directors, CEOs, and other senior leaders through phone calls, personalised emails, and LinkedIn messages to spark interest in Talent Grid Africa’s services.
- Run initial discovery conversations to understand each prospect’s hiring pain points and assess whether they are a realistic fit for our offerings.
- Present clear, high-level summaries of our corporate recruitment, temporary staffing, executive search, and bespoke HR project capabilities without overpromising on delivery.
- Qualify leads rigorously before passing them to senior account executives, ensuring only viable meetings and serious prospects move forward.
- Log every interaction, follow-up, and pipeline stage in the CRM with accurate notes, so the wider sales team always has a clean view of account status.
- Hit agreed targets for outreach volume, qualified leads, and scheduled discovery meetings on a weekly and monthly basis.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business, Human Resources, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in B2B telesales, lead generation, or sales development — ideally within recruitment, staffing, or another professional services environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confident phone presence and the ability to hold a professional conversation with C-level executives.
- Naturally self-motivated and resilient, comfortable with rejection, and able to maintain consistent activity even during slow periods.
- Proven ability to manage multiple prospect conversations simultaneously while keeping meticulous records in a CRM.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar tools.
