Role Overview
As a Primary Teacher providing maternity cover, you will teach and support primary-aged pupils in a British curriculum setting. Your daily work will combine lesson planning, classroom teaching and assessment, helping children make academic progress while building the confidence and curiosity they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach lessons that reflect the curriculum and meet pupils’ learning needs.
- Prepare purposeful classroom activities that encourage participation and understanding.
- Maintain an inclusive, well-managed classroom where pupils feel supported and ready to learn.
- Assess pupils’ work and progress, then give clear feedback to guide their next steps.
- Adapt teaching approaches to support different abilities and help each pupil participate.
- Promote curiosity, confidence and positive attitudes towards learning.
- Work with colleagues and communicate with parents to support pupils’ academic and personal development.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A genuine commitment to teaching primary-aged children and supporting their broader development.
- Knowledge of primary teaching methods and the ability to plan learning activities for a British curriculum environment.
- Strong classroom management skills and an engaging approach to teaching.
- Ability to assess progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Clear communication and a collaborative approach to working with pupils, colleagues and parents.
