Role Overview
Deliver classroom and hands-on training in hair and beauty therapy, helping trainees develop the knowledge and practical skills required in the trade. The role also supports trainees’ progress through assessment, guidance, and the careful upkeep of training tools and records.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach theoretical concepts and demonstrate practical hair and beauty therapy techniques.
- Prepare and update schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, and instructional materials.
- Maintain accurate trainee records and monitor learning progress.
- Assess trainees’ knowledge and practical competence.
- Ensure tools and equipment are handled properly and kept in good condition.
- Organise or take part in co-curricular activities.
- Promote appropriate conduct, maintain trainee discipline, and provide guidance and counselling.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Hair and Beauty Therapy, Level 6 TVET CDACC, or an equivalent qualification.
- Certificate in an instructors’ course from the Kenya School of TVET or KTTC.
- Certificate in computer applications from a recognised institution.
