Job Description

Role Overview

Working within an outpatient unit, ward, or health institution, you will be the physiotherapist responsible for assessing, treating, and supporting the rehabilitation of patients with mobility, movement, and functional challenges. Your day-to-day work combines direct patient care with careful documentation, community education, and data collection that helps improve services. This role matters because it directly helps patients regain independence while supporting the facility’s broader public health and operational research goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide physiotherapy services to outpatients, ensuring each patient receives appropriate care based on their condition and treatment plan.
  • Assess patients’ rehabilitation needs, including physical function, mobility, and pain levels, and use these findings to guide intervention.
  • Screen and evaluate patients, then deliver therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, electrotherapy, and hydrotherapy as outlined in formulated treatment plans.
  • Verify, update, and maintain accurate patient records, including assessment results, treatment provided, and progress notes.
  • Collect clinical and operational data to support research activities and contribute to evidence-based improvements in physiotherapy practice.
  • Sensitize the community on physiotherapy issues, including injury prevention, rehabilitation options, and the importance of seeking timely treatment.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on patient cases, treatment activities, and service outcomes to relevant supervisors.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
  • Certificate of registration from the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists (KSP).
  • Current certificate of practice from the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists (KSP).
