Job Title: Pharmaceutical Technologist
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmaceutical Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe dispensing and management of medicines, supervising staff, and providing excellent patient care. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispensing and impounding medicines according to established protocols
- Verifying and maintaining accurate information relating to drugs issued to patients
- Ordering and recording drugs and other medical supplies
- Guiding and counseling trainees, as well as supervising other staff working under him/her
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
- Valid registration certificate from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
Key Competencies & Skills
- Communication: Ability to clearly explain treatments to patients and coordinate care with other clinical staff
- Attention to Detail: Dispensing the right medicines in the right dosage is a critical, life-and-death responsibility; mistakes could be fatal
- Organizational Skills: High-level organizational ability to meet the demands of the role and avoid errors
- Interpersonal Skills: Good rapport with patients, colleagues, and supervisors
- Adaptability: Ability to keep updated on changes in medicine licenses, uses, and newly launched products in a constantly evolving field
