Businessolver is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Analyst to support accurate, timely, and compliant US payroll processing. The role involves reviewing payroll data, validating employee information, resolving payroll discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll requirements.
The successful candidate will support payroll operations, tax activities, audits, reporting, and employee payroll inquiries while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. This position requires strong analytical skills, payroll knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with and process biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule according to company policies and US payroll regulations.
• Review timekeeping records, earnings, deductions, direct deposit changes, employee updates, and tax elections.
• Review termination payments and ensure compliance with state final pay requirements.
• Support payroll tax withholding, filing, reporting, and compliance activities.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, tax variances, missing information, and timecard issues.
• Respond to employee questions related to pay, taxes, deductions, garnishments, direct deposits, and pay statements.
• Maintain payroll records and support reporting, reconciliations, audits, and compliance documentation.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll activities, including W-2 support and tax reconciliation.
• Prepare and support escalated off-cycle payroll runs when required.
• Provide backup payroll support during high-volume periods or team absences.
Requirements:
• 2–4 years of US payroll processing or payroll support experience.
• Associate’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US payroll concepts, including gross-to-net calculations, tax withholding, deductions, taxable wages, FLSA requirements, garnishments, and year-end reporting.
• Understanding of multi-state payroll compliance, state and local taxes, unemployment taxes, paid leave programs, and jurisdiction-specific requirements.
• Experience supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll processes.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with payroll, HRIS, or timekeeping systems such as Ceridian Dayforce, ADP, or Workday is preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential payroll information with professionalism and discretion.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.
• Availability to align working hours with Payroll Manager schedule (8 AM – 5 PM US Central Time)
