Role Overview
As the Operations Manager for a pharmaceutical retail network, you will be the driving force behind daily store performance, ensuring that each location runs efficiently while maintaining full regulatory compliance. Your work directly impacts stock availability, cost control, and the overall profitability of the business, making you a key player in delivering reliable healthcare products to customers. You will lead store teams and coordinate with vendors and internal departments to keep operations seamless and responsive.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across multiple pharmacy store locations, ensuring smooth workflows and consistent customer service standards.
- Manage inventory health by tracking stock levels, reorder points, and product shelf life to prevent stockouts, expiries, and shrinkage.
- Develop and refine operational procedures that cut costs and improve the speed and accuracy of stock movement.
- Ensure all branches comply with pharmaceutical regulations, occupational health and safety rules, and company policies, maintaining up-to-date licenses and audit records.
- Conduct regular operational audits, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions swiftly.
- Supervise store staff, including scheduling shifts, delegating tasks, setting performance targets, and handling coaching, development, and disciplinary matters.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships, negotiating prices and coordinating delivery schedules to meet procurement and inventory goals.
- Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, and Central Pharmacy teams to resolve operational issues and achieve inventory targets.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of progressive operations experience, ideally within pharmaceutical retail, medical distribution, healthcare, or FMCG.
- Strong command of inventory management systems, stock control methods, and procurement logistics.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Proven leadership abilities in supervising, planning, and managing a workforce.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multi-site priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior communication and negotiation skills for managing vendor partnerships and cross-functional teams.
