Job Summary
The Occupational Therapist will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions to help patients develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills. The role requires flexibility, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work varied hours to achieve patient goals. You will work closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, emotional, and social functioning.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and needs.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and daily living activities.
- Educate patients and their families on adaptive techniques and equipment use.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physiotherapists, speech therapists, and doctors.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development and team meetings.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain high standards of integrity in all interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Valid Practicing License issued by the Occupational Therapy Council of Kenya.
- Current registration with the Kenya Occupational Therapists Association (KOTA).
Required Skills & Attributes
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new techniques and approaches.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings as needed to meet patient goals.
- Proficiency in MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- High level of integrity and ethical practice.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
