Job Summary
The Nurse In-Charge will plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise inpatient and outpatient nursing services to ensure high standards of nursing care. This role ensures that all nursing activities align with hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct nursing services for both inpatient and outpatient departments.
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff to ensure efficient delivery of patient care.
- Maintain and enforce high standards of nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and quality benchmarks.
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvements to nursing practices.
- Oversee scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to meet patient needs.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the nursing team.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance patient experience and service delivery.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation of nursing activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (a degree in Nursing will be an added advantage).
- Valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) license.
- Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or in-charge role.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is mandatory.
- Excellent clinical, customer service, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
