Role Overview
This position places you at the centre of the organisation’s modern workplace, taking full ownership of the Microsoft 365 and Azure environment. Day to day, you will safeguard the tenant’s security posture, keep identity and device policies running smoothly, and make sure every team gets maximum value from Teams, SharePoint, and the Power Platform. Beyond the technical administration, you’ll be the internal authority on M365, reducing the organisation’s dependence on external support by building in-house knowledge, documentation, and training that keeps the whole department capable and confident.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer the entire Microsoft 365 tenant, including user lifecycles, licensing, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and security configurations.
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID with a focus on conditional access, multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, and identity governance.
- Configure and maintain Microsoft Intune for device enrolment, compliance policies, mobile device management, and endpoint profiles.
- Operate Microsoft Defender for Business to monitor threats, respond to incidents, and keep endpoint protection effective across the organisation.
- Design and maintain the central ICT SharePoint knowledge repository, housing runbooks, training materials, and up-to-date configuration documentation.
- Support business units with SharePoint site architecture, permissions, and content governance, while enforcing Teams governance policies and meeting configurations.
- Govern the Power Platform tenant, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI workspaces, with DLP and connector policies that keep solutions safe and compliant.
- Act as the primary liaison for the external IT support partner, logging tickets, attending monthly reviews, and tracking SLA compliance while ensuring all deliverables meet internal quality standards.
- Develop and deliver M365 adoption content, including user guides and e-learning for Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune, and provide structured cross-training for first-response identity tasks.
- Participate actively in transformation programmes, supporting technical setup, UAT, go-live, and hyper-care for platforms such as D365 F&O, CRM, HRMS, Power BI, and e-commerce solutions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102) required within 12 months of starting; Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) and Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900) are strongly desirable.
- At least three years of hands-on administration of Microsoft 365 in a production enterprise environment.
- Proven operational experience with Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint in a live organisational setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage an external IT partner under an annual maintenance contract or service-level agreement, including scope management and quality assurance.
- Working knowledge of Power Platform administration, including environment management, DLP policies, and connector governance.
- Solid understanding of Azure fundamentals — compute, storage, and networking — plus practical PowerShell scripting skills for automating M365 administration.
- Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a customer-focused approach to supporting users across the business.
