Job Summary

We are seeking a highly dependable, safety-conscious Motorbike Delivery Rider to drive the efficient, on-time distribution of client packages across our central business network. Your primary objective is to manage the daily transport pipeline, ensuring individual consignments are verified, carefully loaded, and securely delivered to retail or corporate destinations. This position bridges high-velocity urban navigation with professional front-line customer interactions; you will handle variable route mapping, monitor bike mechanical health, and maintain strict product custody tracking throughout your shift. The role demands an honest, punctual operator with deep familiarity of the city grid who can handle fast-moving delivery drops responsibly.

Scope of Responsibilities

Transit Logistics & Dispatch Coordination

• Collect, secure, and transport parcels and documents accurately to designated regional drop-off points.
• Verify delivery manifests pre-departure, cross-referencing package labels against invoices to eliminate sorting errors.
• Secure clear customer signatures, digital confirmations, or valid proof of delivery protocols upon drop-off.
• Structure and prioritize delivery loops methodically to save fuel, avoid major traffic gridlocks, and meet strict deadlines.
• Handle fragile cargo, temperature-sensitive assets, and high-priority packages with specialized physical care to avoid damage.

Asset Care & Preventive Maintenance

• Execute routine pre-start and post-shift safety inspections on the assigned motorbike, focusing on brakes, tires, and oil levels.
• Keep the corporate motorcycle clean, fueled, and in prime roadworthy condition to project an elite brand layout.
• Diagnose and report mechanical anomalies, unusual engine wear, or minor road accidents immediately to logistics managers.
• Track manufacturer service dates closely, ensuring the bike is submitted for scheduled mechanical overhauls on time.

Traffic Compliance & Safety Auditing

• Adhere strictly to all national traffic rules, municipal transport codes, and company speed parameters at all times.
• Practice proactive defensive riding techniques to minimize transit risks and protect public road users.
• Maintain complete custody of active riding credentials, valid insurance stickers, and statutory motorcycle documentation.

Client Service & Field Reporting

• Address clients with a polite, helpful attitude, serving as a clean professional ambassador for the brand.
• Mitigate simple delivery delays on-site, communicating transit updates transparently to avoid customer friction.
• Keep clear, structured handwritten or digital delivery logs detailing completed routes, delays, and returned assets.

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum Entry Criteria

• Academic Foundation: Minimum attainment of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its technical equivalent.
• Licensing Compliance: Possession of a valid, clean Kenyan motorcycle riding license with an unblemished road record.
• Field Longevity: Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience operating as a full-time dispatch rider or commercial courier.
• Geographical Fluency: In-depth, practical knowledge of Nairobi CBD street layouts, corporate building zones, and suburban shortcuts.

Desirable Competencies

• Safety Training: Possession of a formal certificate in defensive riding or advanced motorcycle safety handling is highly valued.
• Analytical Navigation: Sharp route-mapping capabilities, including effective use of smartphone GPS tools and digital delivery maps.
• Personal Integrity: Strong sense of responsibility, absolute honesty, and accurate cash/parcel handling metrics.
