The role helps maintain reliable production by checking dimensions and weld quality, using materials carefully, and keeping workshop work safe and orderly. The position is full-time and based on Mombasa Road, Kenya.
Key Responsibilities

- TIG-weld stainless steel and compatible alloys, selecting suitable consumables and settings for the material and joint.
- Finish fabricated pieces by grinding and polishing them to meet specified surface and appearance standards.
- Read engineering drawings, sketches, schematics, and cutting lists, and check work against stated tolerances.
- Raise unclear or conflicting drawing details with a supervisor before proceeding with production.
- Fit and align frames, casings, structures, and custom metal components, coordinating work with the workshop team.
- Inspect materials, welds, and completed assemblies for dimensional accuracy, sound joints, and finish; correct defects where needed.
- Follow workshop safety procedures, use appropriate PPE, maintain tools and equipment, and report faults promptly.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a focus on fabrication, plant, or production, from a recognised institution.
- One to two years of practical experience in stainless steel fabrication, sheet-metal work, or industrial welding.
- Demonstrated TIG welding ability, particularly with stainless steel.
- Ability to interpret 2D and 3D drawings and translate technical requirements into finished components.
- Careful approach to measurements, tolerances, weld quality, and surface finishing.
- Working knowledge of occupational health and safety, safe material handling, and workshop equipment care.
