Role Overview

This is a classroom teaching position for an educator who is ready to take full ownership of a class or subject group from day one. The successful candidate will plan and deliver lessons that move learners steadily toward measurable academic progress, while also contributing to the wider life of the school through assessment, record-keeping and collaboration with colleagues and parents. The role sits at the heart of the institution's core purpose: turning curriculum expectations into real learning outcomes for every student in the room.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver well-structured lessons that follow the approved curriculum and are pitched appropriately to the age and ability level of the class.
• Set clear learning objectives for each lesson and use a range of teaching methods, materials and activities to keep students engaged and challenged.
• Assess student work regularly through class exercises, assignments, tests and examinations, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, continuous assessment scores and overall learner progress, and use those records to inform future planning.
• Identify students who are struggling or excelling and adapt teaching strategies, remedial support or extension work accordingly.
• Establish and uphold positive classroom management and discipline in line with school policy, creating a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Communicate with parents and guardians about learner performance, behaviour and areas needing attention at home.
• Take part in staff meetings, departmental planning, professional development sessions and school activities as required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree together with a recognised professional teaching qualification.
• A minimum of one year of hands-on teaching experience in a classroom setting.
• A master's degree is an added advantage and will be considered favourably.
• Sound command of the subject matter being taught, along with the ability to explain concepts clearly to learners at different levels.
• Strong classroom management skills and the confidence to lead a group of students consistently and fairly.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with students, colleagues and parents.
• Organisational discipline and reliability in lesson preparation, marking and record-keeping.
• A genuine commitment to student development and to ongoing professional growth.
