Lecturer – Accounting

Role Overview

As a member of our teaching team, you will take ownership of a classroom and guide students through the curriculum from lesson planning to final assessment. Your day-to-day work centres on delivering clear, engaging instruction, tracking how each learner progresses, and adapting your approach so that students of differing abilities stay involved and challenged. This role matters because consistent, well-prepared teaching is the foundation of everything the institution delivers to its students and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare lessons that follow the prescribed curriculum and are appropriate for the age, level, and learning needs of the students in your class.
• Deliver classroom instruction using a mix of explanation, discussion, guided practice, and activities that keep students actively engaged.
• Design and administer assessments, mark student work promptly, and use the results to identify learners who need additional support or extension.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assignments, grades, and student progress, and prepare reports as required by the school.
• Manage classroom behaviour firmly and fairly, establishing routines and expectations that create a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Provide individual attention and remedial support to students who are falling behind, and stretch those who are ready for more advanced work.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student performance, concerns, and achievements.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and supervisors on curriculum planning, examinations, and school activities, and take part in professional development and staff meetings.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree along with a recognised professional teaching qualification.
• A minimum of one year of hands-on teaching experience in a classroom setting.
• A Master's degree is an added advantage and will be considered favourably.
• Solid command of the subject matter and the ability to explain concepts clearly to students at the relevant level.
• Practical classroom management skills and the confidence to handle a full class independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Organised approach to lesson planning, marking, and record-keeping.
• Willingness to keep developing professionally and to contribute to the wider life of the institution.
