Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using standard industrial dishwashers or by hand, ensuring they are sanitized and ready for use.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and food preparation areas by regularly cleaning floors, countertops, equipment, and other surfaces.
- Properly dispose of food waste, recycling materials, and other refuse while ensuring trash bins are emptied regularly.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory of kitchen supplies and materials and informing management when stock levels are low.
- Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and appliances, reporting any malfunctions to the kitchen manager or chef.
- Support cooking staff and other kitchen personnel with tasks such as cutting vegetables and gathering supplies to help facilitate meal preparation.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and protocols, including proper handling of food and cleaning chemicals.
Requirements
- Must possess a KCSE Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- A Certificate in hospitality management and food production is considered an added advantage.
- Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Must have a solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Proficient in the handling and operation of standard kitchen equipment.
- Must provide a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
