Company Details
Industry: Government Administration
Description: The Water Resources Authority (WRA) is a state corporation established pursuant to Section 7 of the Water Act, 2002 and was operationalized in 2005. WRA is the lead agency in the Management of Water Resources in the country. As a lead agency, WRA has a vital role to regulate, manage and equitably allocate the national water resources to all users. As the country continues to grow, so does its demand; but supplies of water are limited, accordingly WRA is mandated through delegated authority on behalf of the National Government to safeguard the right to clean water by overseeing the proper management and regulation of water resources, in order to ensure adequate water for the citizens – now and in the future. The economic and social developments anticipated by Vision 2030 will put more demand on water resources in terms of quantity and quality. WRA’s role as the Lead Agency in Water Resources Management is therefore crucial in enabling the delivery of the Vision 2030 development agenda.
