Minimum Requirements (Likely)
Applicants should:
-
Hold relevant academic qualifications (Diploma, Bachelor’s, or higher in ICT, Engineering, Agriculture, Health Sciences, or related fields).

Have prior experience in technical training, laboratory support, or vocational education depending on the role.

Demonstrate strong communication, instructional, and organizational skills.

Be familiar with TVET Act No. 29 of 2013, vocational training standards, and industry‑aligned curricula.

Show professionalism, integrity, and alignment with Siaya National Polytechnic’s mission of equipping learners with technical skills for industrial growth and national development.
Role‑specific expectations:
-
Trainers (Computing, ICT, Health Science): Deliver practical and theoretical training, mentor students, and support curriculum development.

Technicians (Electrical, Welding): Provide technical support in labs/workshops, maintain equipment, and assist in training delivery.

Farm Hand: Support agricultural training, manage farm operations, and assist in environmental science projects.

Shortlisted candidates with qualifications acquired outside Kenya should obtain recognition from Commission for University Education (CUE).
There are two (2) Trainer positions available in the ICT Department. Candidates will be considered separately based on their academic qualifications. One (1) position is reserved for a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree, while the other is reserved for a candidate with a Diploma Certificate. Applicants are encouraged to apply for the position that matches their qualifications.
