IT Lead/Manager

Role Overview

This position keeps a hospital running on dependable technology — from the network backbone and servers to the clinical and business applications staff rely on every shift. Day to day, you will build and maintain infrastructure, resolve hardware and software failures, harden systems against security and data-loss risks, and coach colleagues so they can use technology safely and confidently. The work matters because patient care, records, inventory, finance, and communication all depend on the systems you keep available, secure, and recoverable.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and sustain network connectivity across the facility, covering local and wide-area links, network segments, internet access, and remote connectivity for staff working off-site.
• Build, rebuild, and configure physical and virtual servers — including hardware, peripherals, services, directory structures, storage, and system settings — in line with CURE International IT standards and the hospital's operational needs.
• Provision and configure end-user devices and infrastructure equipment: desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, desk phones, smartphones, and the software that runs on them.
• Create, modify, suspend, and remove user accounts and access permissions as requests come in, keeping entitlements accurate and appropriate.
• Carry out daily monitoring of hardware, server resources, systems, and scheduled processes; review system and application logs; and confirm that jobs such as backups finished successfully.
• Maintain automated daily backups to local storage, network-attached storage, and offsite cloud targets, and verify that all required files and system data are captured.
• Run regular security monitoring to detect, investigate, and remediate potential intrusions or vulnerabilities, and apply operating system patches, updates, upgrades, and administrative tool updates on a routine schedule.
• Diagnose and recover from hardware and software failures, restoring service quickly while keeping affected users and departments informed with clear, regular status updates.
• Document deployment, installation, and configuration procedures, and research automated or otherwise improved approaches to recurring system administration work.
• Advise hospital staff on acceptable use of AI tools, and enforce CURE International policies covering AI use, IT security, and data privacy.
• Coach and train hospital staff on the organization's hardware, software, and systems; where the IT Officer reports to this role, provide leadership, mentoring, day-to-day direction, and performance guidance.
• Manage IT budgets, resources, and vendor relationships, including enterprise applications for communication, collaboration, electronic medical records, inventory, human resources, financial management, and accounting.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of technical training and hands-on experience.
• Roughly five or more years in systems and network administration, with demonstrated ownership of servers, virtualization, networking, and end-user device support.
• Prior experience supervising, mentoring, or coordinating the work of junior technical staff.
• Practical command of LAN/WAN configuration, routing and switching, firewall management, wireless access points, and remote access technologies.
• Working knowledge of server and desktop operating systems, virtualization platforms, directory services, and account/permission administration.
• Hands-on experience with backup and recovery operations, including offsite or cloud-based backup targets.
• Familiarity with security monitoring practices, patch management, and data privacy principles — ideally in a healthcare or other regulated environment.
• Experience supporting enterprise business applications such as EMR, HR, finance, or inventory systems.
• Strong troubleshooting instincts, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to keep users informed during service disruptions.
• Comfortable documenting technical procedures and training non-technical colleagues.
