Job Description

Role Overview

This role sits at the intersection of inventory control and financial accuracy, ensuring that stock levels, material movements, and cost records are tightly aligned. Day to day, you will reconcile physical inventory with system data, prepare reports that track spending across projects, and work directly with install teams to keep equipment flowing to job sites. Your attention to detail directly prevents project delays and budget overruns, making you a critical link between operations and finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full inventory lifecycle—receiving, storing, issuing, and disposing of materials—while keeping stock levels optimised for active projects.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and full physical reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical stock and the Zoho system.
  • Record every inventory transaction (purchases, transfers, adjustments, disposals) in accurate, up-to-date financial ledgers.
  • Generate monthly and ad-hoc financial reports that include cost analyses, variance explanations, and project-level profitability views.
  • Collaborate with project managers to forecast material needs, align delivery schedules, and troubleshoot stock shortages that could hit deadlines.
  • Support automation initiatives—such as digitising material request workflows—and help test new inventory software features.
  • Prepare detailed documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring all inventory records comply with company policy and accounting standards.
  • Maintain meticulous records of delivery notes, dispatch logs, and supplier correspondence for traceability.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience as an Inventory Accountant or in a combined inventory/finance role, ideally within IT or technology.
  • Solid understanding of inventory valuation methods (FIFO, weighted average) and financial reporting principles.
  • Proven proficiency with an ERP or inventory management system (experience with Zoho is a strong plus).
  • Strong analytical mindset: able to spot cost-saving opportunities, interpret stock movement trends, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a track record of meeting tight month-end deadlines.
  • Effective cross-functional communication—able to coordinate with project leads, vendors, and the finance team without friction.
  • Preferred: a professional certification such as CIMA, CPA, CIPS-UK, or CPSP-K, and previous exposure to project-based inventory management (e.g., CCTV, access control, or similar technology equipment).
