Role Overview
This role centres on every technology purchase the group makes. You will lead sourcing for hardware, software, subscriptions, telecom services, and IT support contracts, taking each request from initial specification through to supplier selection, negotiation, and signing. Working closely with internal teams and external vendors, you will make sure purchases are compliant, commercially favourable, and delivered on time to keep business operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full procurement cycle for technology goods and services, including hardware, software licences, cloud subscriptions, network and telecom services, maintenance, and IT consultancy.
- Develop sourcing strategies and an annual category plan for technology, using market insight and spend data to support business and budget objectives.
- Run competitive sourcing exercises, framework agreements, and OEM or authorised-reseller routes, evaluating bids and negotiating terms that deliver value while managing risk.
- Prepare contract award recommendations and ensure final agreements, purchase orders, and related documents reflect approved commercial conditions.
- Track the entire technology contract portfolio, monitoring renewal dates, support entitlements, quantities, values, and vendor contract obligations.
- Manage the on-boarding of new suppliers and maintain relationships with key IT vendors, manufacturers, partners, and service providers across the group.
- Apply procurement governance and compliance controls, keeping records complete, accurate, and audit-ready for both internal approvals and external regulatory requirements.
- Support sustainable and responsible procurement initiatives, building environmental and supplier diversity considerations into technology sourcing decisions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or another related commercial discipline.
- A recognised professional procurement qualification such as CIPS, CPSP-K, or an equivalent certification.
- Active membership of a relevant professional body, for example CIPS or KISM.
- At least five years of experience in procurement, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory or team-coordination role.
- Direct experience managing technology and ICT-related procurement categories, including software, hardware, networks, or related professional services.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract interpretation skills, with practical understanding of competitive bidding and procurement policy.
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities, plus an analytical approach to spend monitoring, reporting, and opportunity identification.
