Role Overview
This position places you at the heart of Nairobi’s end-of-life planning market, where you will promote and sell last expense insurance policies to families, individuals, corporate groups, and community organisations. Your daily work blends direct field outreach with trusted financial guidance: you will identify prospective clients, explain policy structures and claim processes in plain terms, and guide new policyholders from application to issuance. By consistently expanding your client base and nurturing long-term relationships, you directly contribute to the company’s growth while helping people secure financial dignity for their loved ones.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate a steady flow of new business through cold calling, door-to-door visits, referrals, and partnership building with community and corporate organisations.
- Present last expense insurance products to individuals and groups, clearly explaining premium structures, coverage limits, and claim procedures so prospects can make informed decisions.
- Develop and execute a personal sales plan that consistently meets or exceeds weekly, monthly, and quarterly acquisition targets.
- Conduct needs assessments with clients to match them with appropriate coverage levels and any relevant add-on options.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with existing policyholders, conducting periodic reviews to encourage premium discipline and identify opportunities for additional coverage.
- Handle client queries across the entire customer lifecycle, from onboarding to policy updates, ensuring accurate paperwork and fast resolution of issues.
- Record all prospecting activity, client interactions, follow-ups, and pipeline movements in sales reports submitted to management on a regular basis.
- Represent the company at outdoor activations, community briefings, and corporate wellness events, while also tracking competitor offerings and sharing market insights with leadership.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in insurance, business administration, marketing, sales, or a related commercial field.
- Proven hands-on experience in insurance sales, financial product distribution, or a closely related advisory role.
- Familiarity with micro-insurance, life assurance, or last expense policy structures is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a personal sales pipeline, meet quotas, and grow a client portfolio.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the empathy to discuss sensitive topics like end-of-life planning respectfully and clearly.
- Self-disciplined and comfortable working independently in the field, backed by sound organisational and record-keeping habits.
- Fully available for full-time field sales work in Nairobi, with a confident, professional presence.
