About AWWDA
AWWDA (African Women Water Development Association) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene across rural and peri-urban communities in Africa. We empower women through water-related projects, advocacy, and capacity building. We are seeking motivated and passionate students for an industrial attachment program to support our ongoing initiatives.
Position Details
- Job Title: Industrial Attachment Trainee
- Location: AWWDA Head Office (specify city/country if needed) / Remote options available
- Duration: 3–6 months (flexible based on academic requirements)
- Reports to: Program Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in project planning, implementation, and monitoring of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs.
- Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for field assessments and impact evaluations.
- Contribute to community engagement activities and stakeholder communication.
- Help prepare documentation, case studies, and presentations for donors and partners.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and capacity building workshops.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a university or college pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, Water Engineering, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of local languages is an added advantage).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in water, gender, and development issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Previous volunteer or field experience in community projects is desirable.
