HR Business Partner – Mobile Internet Business Group (Africa)
Location: Kenya (with potential regional support across East Africa)
About the Role
We are seeking a strategic HR professional to support the HR team in our Mobile Internet Business Group. In this role, you will work closely with business managers to drive people initiatives, enhance employee engagement, and ensure local policy alignment. You will partner with the Overseas HR Leader and the Regional HR Manager in Africa to oversee day-to-day HR operations for the Mobile Internet Business Group, with a focus on Kenya and broader East Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Support: Partner with business managers to provide tactical and strategic HR guidance, enabling business objectives.
- Operational Oversight: Assist the Overseas HR Leader and Regional HR Manager in Africa in managing day-to-day HR functions, including employee engagement initiatives and interpretation of local policies.
- Talent & Compensation: Deliver comprehensive HR support across Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, and Performance Review for the Mobile Internet Business Group – within Kenya and potentially across East Africa.
- Global Collaboration: Partner with Chinese HRBPs worldwide to understand business needs and navigate country-specific requirements.
- Local Policy Implementation: Collaborate with the African Group HR teams to implement relevant local policies effectively.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Manage ad-hoc tasks related to all functional matters within the Mobile Internet Business Group in Africa.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience in an HR generalist or business partner role, ideally supporting technology or mobile internet businesses.
- Strong knowledge of talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, and performance management processes.
- Ability to work across multiple markets (Kenya and broader East Africa) and navigate diverse local labor laws and regulations.
- Experience collaborating with global HR teams and Chinese HRBPs is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to handle ad-hoc projects and evolving priorities.
- Fluency in English required; Chinese language skills are an advantage.
