Role Overview
Based on Mombasa Road in Nairobi, the HR Officer / Recruiter manages recruitment assignments, client relationships, and HR administration for outsourced workforces. The role connects employer requirements with suitable candidates while keeping placements, payroll, and employee support on track across several client accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Run recruitment from role profiling through sourcing, CV review, structured interviews, reference checks, and placement.
- Develop candidate pools using job boards, professional networks, referrals, and social media, and keep talent records current.
- Work with client contacts and hiring managers to clarify selection criteria, manage vacancies, and meet agreed recruitment timelines.
- Coordinate outsourced HR support for corporate accounts, monitor service commitments, and address workforce queries with clients and contract employees.
- Source prospective corporate clients, present recruitment and HR outsourcing services, and contribute to client proposals.
- Prepare monthly payroll for internal and outsourced teams, checking pay, commissions, allowances, and statutory deductions.
- Coordinate onboarding, maintain personnel files, track leave, support performance reviews, and manage disciplinary processes.
- Apply Kenyan employment, payroll, and data privacy requirements when handling HR records and workforce processes.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Three to five years of hands-on experience in HR generalist work and recruitment. Experience in an HR consultancy, recruitment agency, or outsourcing business is preferred.
- Practical ability with applicant tracking systems, payroll software, HRIS platforms, and advanced MS Excel.
- Strong working knowledge of Kenyan labour legislation and payroll obligations, including PAYE, NSSF, SHA, and the Housing Levy.
- Confident client communication, pitching, networking, and relationship-management skills, with an interest in achieving recruitment and business development targets.
- Sound interviewing and candidate evaluation skills, with the judgement to assess role requirements and organisational fit.
- Ability to manage concurrent client recruitment portfolios and payroll deadlines accurately.
- Available for full-time, on-site work at Mombasa Road, Nairobi.
